The Practice of Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

Simply put, mindfulness is becoming aware of what your experience is from one moment to the next, with curiosity and gentle acceptance.  Too often the stress of our busy lives gives rise to chronic anxiety. Mindfulness allows us to be less reactive to what is happening in the moment. When we are not caught up in reactivity, we can allow joy, peace, mental clarity, and compassion to arise.

How to Begin?
Anyone can learn and practice mindfulness skills. You do not need to have any particular philosophy or belief system. Although the fundamental skills have been used for thousands of years, current approaches are well-founded in medical and psychological science. You already have everything you need to begin. I would be happy to help you develop your own mindfulness practice.
